Vision Church is a non-denominational church in Canberra, Australia.

HOW WE BEGAN

In 1989, seven people began gathering in a home in the suburb of Garran. This was the start of Vision Christian Fellowship, now Vision Church. Not long after, Vision moved into a public building for worship services. The first few years of Vision saw slow and minimal growth with a congregation remaining around twenty. Throughout the nineties, God brought new people into the church and it grew in number and maturity. Today, it has a combined congregation of around 400 people.

WHAT DREW US TOGETHER

We believe that God has, and continues to, draw people from all walks of life to be part of our church. Many have come here disillusioned, hurt and in need of a little love and care. As we have gathered, God has blessed and healed us. Watching this happen has given us a deeper understanding and appreciation of the original vision given to some of the founding members.

A VISION FOR THE CHURCH

A picture of what our church is meant to be can be found in Ezekiel 17:22-24. Ezekiel shows a tree being formed and birds from all walks of life coming to find shelter and rest in its branches. Like with any tree, some birds build nests, while others only stay for a rest. We have found that some people come for a season of healing and rest, and others stay and take up residence. The call God has placed upon Vision, through the Ezekiel scripture, is to be a place where healing and refuge can be found - a Safe Place. We believe Vision is a church where God's acceptance, healing and provision are known.

Birds of every kind will nest in it; they will find shelter in the shade of its branches.
— Ezekiel 17:23
